Are you a Leader or a Boss?

There is a difference between a "Leader" and a "Boss!" Boss's tell others what to do based on authority they are given, often not earned.   Boss's often times have a job description of just getting people to do a certain task and then come back later to make sure that they have completed the assigned task. A Boss often has the authority to fire an individual based on there performance. A Boss operates by natural authority! Boss's doesn't have to do the task, just make sure that you do the task and if you do not achieve the goal then you can be let go! "Remember that nothing is impossible, if you are not the person who has to do it!"
On the other hand, a "Leader" leads by divine "INFLUENCE," not divine authority. A leader demonstrates how to be a good worker not just demands your work to be accomplished. A leader seeks to influence you by enhancing your thinking, by being honest and encouraging in there evaluation of your accomplishments, and develops your skills not just criticizes your performance. They not only develop you into being an accomplished and fulfilled worker, "but an effective future Leader!"

The Motive

"There are two kinds of people in the ministry.  The kind of people that want to be somebody, and the kind of people who want to help somebody!"  Which one are you?
In order to be as effective as Jesus was during His earthly ministry we must become more like him!  Great revelation...Duh!  I had developed ego-centric and self serving tendancies.  Which made me a leader who thought that the people around me existed for my benefit!  I was reminded that Jesus Himself said, "I came to serve, not to be served!"  If serving / helping others is my goal then God will always bring people around me that I can help, not bring people around me to help me!
This encounter reminded me of a banner that was put up in the front of a chruch hosting a conference that stated, "People like you make people like me go!"   If we are not trying to "be somebody," and are tryng to "help somebody.,  we will then and only then become a leader like Jesus!
